I play it regularly. 'Tis fun!

Right now I have a floating tower home and am building an entire village for the hell of it.

I also run the Mo' Creatures mod, so I have a horse farm and a dolphin enclosure. This is probably the eith or 9th world I have started will probably stick with it since I have put a fair amount of time into my building.

Had this in my hands at GenCon this past weekend. Wish I would have bit the bullet and bought it!

Welcome back,
Your dreams were your ticket out.

Welcome back,
To that same old place that you laughed about.

Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around.

Who'd have thought they'd lead ya (Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)

Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've hot him on the spot, welcome back,
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

Just finished re-reading Turncoat by Jim Butler

heh--that a late April Fool joke?  Took me a few minutes to figure out it's Jim Butcher :)

Never been exposed to this genre--which is similar to Buffy and Angel etc right?  I'm not a tv watcher generally and don't spend as much time reading best seller type books.  I did read a few of the Ann Rice vampire books--really like the first one of those.

So if someone were to recommend starting this kind of genre  (I guess you could call it modern pulp supernatural?)...

Where would the start be?  What is the "best" series/"best" author?  If I were to commit to only reading, say 3 of these kinds of books, which should I pick up?

How about shows now that many of them are available in package form--what is the best show/best series?

Yeah, Jim Butcher. Where I got Butler from, I don't know. Jim Butcher is fun. Smart-alecy Wizard PI. named Harry Dresden. He's in the phone book under 'Wizard'. No one believes him, but there is a whole supernatural world out there of things that like to do nasty things to people, and he's one of the few that stand in their way. Good heart, always gets in over his head. Barely survives  and usually walks away further scarred by pain and loss. The character grows and changes as the series progresses, unlike many series proteagonists. I enjoy them immensely.

Just finished re-reading Turncoat by Jim Butcher in preparation to the release of the newest Dresden Files novel Changes, which is out this week.

I have to wait to May to read it though. I'm being a good boy and asking for it for my birthday from my wife instead of rushing out and buying it the release week..

On a side note, at Origins Evil Hat is finally releasing the Dresden Files RPG FATE game they have been working on for literally four years. I am going to Origins this year, but will probably only buy the Dresden Files: Your Story book and leaving the Dresden Files: Our World book for a later purchase. It's just too much money to drop on a game that might see playtime at my table with the Tuesday Nighters..

Top 5 things I hate right now!

1. Lying, miserly, or pissy customers
2. Local municiple taxes
3. My slowly dying vehicle
4. Little girls sharing hats (and head lice) at school. Yikes!
5. The fact there's only 24 hours in a day

Top 5 things I love right now!
1. Tax returns!
2. Sympathetic and grateful customers
3. The fact my wife finally finished her Master's program (8 years!)
4. Making the final payment of my student loan
5. Planning the garden

CL, I thought the same thing. My first thought was Hey! I see her panties! Second thought was Hey! Them jeans have like, zero crotch-space. Huh. I guess that's how the starlets wear them these days?

Padre, I keep all those pictures for myself. I lay them out on the floor and roll around in them.

Rhonnus, you did not pay me for pictures, you paid me to hide that bodypackage. I separated the 'package' in several parts and dumped them in  several places just like you asked, then dumped the 'tools' in the river. Has anyone asked about the missing package yet? No? Then I did exactly what you paid me for..

You know, I kind of creep me out sometimes..

What are we talking about again? Oh yeah, pretty people..
