« on: February 16, 2010, 11:27:29 AM »
Fan of Roger Zelazny's Amber series?

Ever play Phage Press' diceless roleplay version?

Amber Diceless Roleplay is a fantastc and fun system that can allow for limitless adventure opportunity as scions of the House of Oberon. You take the part of the newer generation of Amberites, sons and daughters of Corwin, of Eric, Fiona, or any of the Nine Princes or 4 Princesses of Amber.

The Attribute Auction system encourages players to bid against each other, generating a unique family of immortals!

"An Empty Tomb Upon Kolvir Sits"

It has been five years since the end of the Patternfall War, where the hordes of Chaos were driven back, the Pattern healed, and Brand disappeared into the darkness of the great Chasm. The crown sits uneasily upon the brow of Random, King of Amber. His brothers quietly follow their own paths as the King reestablishes diplomatic ties with the Golden Circle kingdoms. Martin is oft present in Amber, despite the furious whispers of his ligitimacy, considering Queen Vialle is pregnant with the first in-wedlock prince. Random has legitimized Martin, but will he be heir?

Of Corwin, once self-crowned King, there has been no word since the final battle at the Courts of Chaos. Has he gone into his own self-scribed Pattern at the center of things next to the great tree Ygg? Murdered? Wandering Shadow? No one knows..

Out in Shadow, the secret sons and daughters of the House Amber receive chilling warnings. Recognized scions of Amber are put on alert, for something or someone, is stalking the scions of Oberon.

Players will be taking the part of scions of the House Amber and grandchildren to Oberon.

Post Rate is at least 2x weekly. Extensive character creation will be part of the fun!

Shape reality to your whim by shadowalking to a shadow of your desire. Match wits or swords with demons of chaos or unravel plots within your own family as age-old grudges rear into dangerous infighting.

The Game Room / Paizo's RPGSuperstar 2010
« on: January 22, 2010, 12:46:15 PM »
Anyone else give this a try? I was lucky enough to win a place as an alternate, which is pretty fantastic considering there were well over 1400 entries.

First round is creating a Wonderous Item for use in Paizo's Pathfinder version of D&D 3.5. There were 32 finalists and 4 alternates. The only way I get in is if one or more of the top 32 either drop the ball or are disqualified. Here's to hoping someone screws up!

The winner of the 5 round contest receives a contract to write a full-fledged adventure to be published by Paizo. Also, a number of the top writers from the last couple rounds have received minor writing gigs for Paizo, so even if you don't win you could get some published work with a major company.

Check it out!

The Rec Room / Colonel Blood does Webcomics!
« on: August 13, 2007, 01:11:47 PM »
Why does this comic make me think that Colonel Blood has written it?

This is, by the way, the opening scene fo rthe new chapter. The creator and illustrator for the series has written some pretty fantastic stuff, though the last two chapters have been a bit wierd and foggy.

Game Interest and Speculation / Quicky Games Discussion Thread
« on: July 16, 2007, 06:06:25 PM »
This thread can be used for discussion, contemplation, and secretive planning of various 'quicky' games that introduce unfamiliar players to a certain gaming system, whether it be WFRP, MnM, (add'l) True20, or other popular and possible PBP games.

Thanks to those who suggested the idea!

Game Ad Archives / The Steam Streets of LaBreggo

Game Name: The Steam Streets of LaBreggo
Ruleset: True20
Players Wanted: 3-4
Posting Rate: 2-3 times weekly

Ahh, the city of LaBreggo where steam powered factories labor away, policemen protect the citizens from threats both mundane and magical, and societies both Church and Arcane watch over all under the purview of the Star Chamber and His Majesty, King Edvin Luvia I. The mean streets where knives flash, blood spills, and dark magicks burn the air with the stench of evil. Who will protect the citizens of the city? What heros will step forth, take up the cause of righteousness and help burn out the canker of evil in our fair city?

The Steam Streets of LaBreggo is a Victorian-Age game of Steampunk, where the average citizen labors in the huge, sprawling city of LaBreggo to scratch out a living. The characters would be taking the roles from a wide range of possibilities, from members of the three Branches of government-funded law-keeping Starmen, to demon-banishing Church Inquisitors, nosy and stalwart reporters looking to break the next big story before the weekend edition of the flimsy gets printed, Arcane dabblers testing the limits of otherworldly invaders, or even the average everyman, pulled into the Weird by events and things far beyond their control.

I will be using the Sanity rules, as men are not able to understand or deal with much of the wierd. Foes range from the restless dead, gangs of sabateur hooligans called steamgangs, secret cabals of occult dabblers, or even steam-devil possessed automitons on hell-bent swaths of destruction. Mythos-inspired Others seek ways into our world, and the heroes struggle to contain their influences.

True20 crunchy stuff is complete, and to play this game you will need to familiarize yourself with the world, Wierd, and Rules found here.

I would like to see character concepts and will choose a good combination of characters to make a fun game. Submissions to be made here in the recruitment thread. A paragraph is all I need, describing the character path, motivations, and any interesting points about the personality of the character.

Thanks!

Game Interest and Speculation / Steampunk Victorian-Era True20

Working on crafting a game using the True20 system, based in the mythical city of LaBreggo where steam powered factories labor away, policemen protect the citizens from threats both mundane and magical, and societies both Church and Arcane watch over all under the purview of the Star Chamber and His Majesty, King Edvin Luvia I.

It is a Victorian-Age world of Steampunk, where the average citizen labors in the huge, sprawling city of LaBreggo to scratch out a living. Mythos-inspired Others seek ways into our world, and the heroes struggle to contain their influences.

I am working on the True20 cruchy stuff, but much of the campaign flavor can be found here.

Anyone interested?

Sorry to poke my rather large nose in here, but Dr Albrecht Wiemer is played by the fabulous RonnusPharmD and a certain rat killin, gun lovin' dwarf has been strangely left out...  :'(
